Where fast lives slow down.
Since 1958, the Andruss Motel has been the basecamp of choice for anglers, adventurers, and road-trippers making their way along Highway 395 — one of the most spectacular drives in the American West. We're not a chain. We're not a resort. We're 13 rooms, one highway, and the real Eastern Sierra. The kind of place where the owner knows your name, the pool is cold, and the stars come out every single night.

Book This Room"Steve, your hospitality, clean rooms, and on-site activities was a retreat. Nostalgic — felt like it was out of the movies. The grounds: fish cleaning station, horseshoe, cornhole, swimming pool, BBQ grills, fire pits, entertainment stage."
"An iconic motor court motel with well-maintained units and bright landscaping — fitting to be a Norman Rockwell painting. The rooms are ultra clean with classic knotty pine walls. The owner is the ultimate innkeeper."
"Fantastic open-air common spaces and clean rooms. Great location — close to hiking, mountain biking, and fishing. Small town feel with everything you need nearby."
When the weather breaks, the music starts. Every summer we host live music around the property — poolside, around the fire pit, or on the stage out front. Local acts, cold nights, and a crowd of people who drove a long way to feel exactly this good. Folk, Americana, blues, and whatever else fits the Eastern Sierra.
Events are posted live on our Facebook page — add a new show there and it appears on the website automatically.

"Wow what a great little place. The service was great — the owner was friendly and helpful. The entire property was so cute and homey with lots of nice grass, games, lots of trees. The pool was pretty big, really nice and clean. It's lit up for night swimming which was so fun for the kids. Great vibes and felt very safe and comfortable. We will absolutely be back!!!"
"The well-maintained pet-friendly property with great shade from mature trees drew us in on a hot summer day, but we were pleasantly surprised with the comfortable room, resort style pool area and friendly staff. It was surprisingly quiet and peaceful. We will definitely stay again on our next pass through."
"They call it the quiet side of the Sierras for a reason — people come here to fish, explore and to basically leave your cares behind. Relaxing, nice grounds, clean and comfortable rooms with a throw back vibe of yesterday — it's about connection and enjoying the simpler things. We'd go back in a heartbeat! Thanks Steve!"
"Really liked this motel, great room with kitchenette, lovely seating area directly in front of the unit outside. Great value, was just what I was looking for. Room was super clean and even had dishes and coffee! The bed was super comfortable and it was super quiet. The owner went out of his way to facilitate a later check-in — most appreciated. I'll absolutely stay here again!"
"I highly recommend this spot. Steve is a great host, and very generous with his local knowledge. Comfortable beds, with a laid-back vibe. Not a five star motel, but it is a five star experience!"
"We came here to fish for Lahontan Cutthroat trout. The rooms are very modern, with updated amenities including comfortable beds, new appliances. Don't let room '13' fool you — it's the best room (furthest from the highway and closest to the picnic tables). Would definitely stay here on my next fly fishing quest! And yes, I caught a Lahontan Cutthroat!"
